We're pleased to announce that we have started our own record label - 'Velvet Scene', an exclusive imprint, in partnership with Rise Records. Our debut release through 'Velvet Scene' will be a 14 track collection, entitled 'The Joys of Living 2008-2010'. The album will include our first 2 years of recorded material ('Shallow Waters' E.P', 'Show of Hands' E.P' & 'Common Grounds' single), as well as 2 brand new songs. ‎'The Joys of Living 2008-2010' will be Available in LP/CD/Digital formats April 5th in the US, Canada and Australia/NZ.

New material on it's way...
Monday and Tuesday of this week were spent recording in the studio with our friend Dan Weller (Show Of Hands, Common Grounds). An official announcement is to follow as to why exactly were recording new tracks, but I may as well start letting you all in on it. And incase you're wondering, it is only two songs that we did, but two MOTHERS at that. The songs are 'Sweet Harness' (which if you caught us on the recent Gaslight tour and were paying attention then you should recognize) and 'The Joys Of Living' (an old favourite of ours that we've only just got 'round to documenting).
So, like I said details and explanations are to follow but I can say that if you live in the United States and are a fan then you've every right to be interested. So check back in a few days when the songs are ready and mixed and I'm obliged to give a full and not so mysterious statement on this matter. Thanks for reading. RIP Vicious Cycle. RIP Throats

Velvet Scene

As it has been made clear on Punknews and various music blogs alike, we have signed a minor deal with Rise Records in the US. The label has given us our very own imprint, 'Velvet Scene' for the record to be released under. The reason for the imprint is to emphasize a new diversity in the label but also for us to keep away from association with their roster, and let's make no bones about it here, we sound NOTHING like any group on that label. Having said that the people from Rise proved an enormous amount of passion and understanding for us that signing this means nothing but good news and excitement.

All we have arranged for so far is the release of a 14-song collection of material entitled 'The Joys Of Living 2008-2010'. It'll be a chance to get hold of our previously released material (excluding the Northern Towns split) all on one format (CD, Vinyl and Digital), plus two brand new tunes. A new 7 inch consisting of the two new songs (Sweet Harness/The Joys Of Living) will also be released as a single in the UK.

Working with Rise has also opened doors for us to come to North America and Canada, and next year we do plan on coming over to support the release (April 5th), but details of that will follow.
